Hi Robert,
Hey have you had success with Performancing and BlogCFC? I was not sure if you ment that this post was the test or that you were going to begin testing.
I have been unsuccessful thus far in my settings and wondered if you had to make any mods or used available settings.

This entry was my first test. I didnt have to do much to get it to work with blogCFC. I clicked the "manually configure" button. Then on the next screen chose custom blog. then selected the MetaWeblog API on the next screen and provided the path to the xmlrpc file then user name and password.

It seems to work pretty well for new entries but, I've had difficulty if I wanted to edit an entry. It let me edit it but made a mess when I posted it. I had planned on trying it some more this week. Let me know how it works out for you.

Thanks Robert, I am sure I had the path to xmlrpc incorrect. I will mess with that. I was going to blog about it over at my house - I will make sure to link back over to yours.
Thanks so much!

I actually had the path wrong the first time I tried to set it up too.. I couldnt figure out what was going on till I actually looked at my blogcfc directory. Good luck with your tests..

no.. but we are running different versions of blogcfc. I know Ray made some improvements to the xmlrpc code in later releases. I'd update to the latest version and try again. He's up to version 5.5.005 now.

I bet you are right. Actually after hitting the Post button I wen't down to check your version. That has to be it, I do remember Ray mentioning upgrades to the xmlrpc along the way.

I will get the current version from SVN in a bit and hopefully wrap up this conversation (-;
Thanks

Hey Robert,
I at least had to get back with you and let you know that I finally had success. I just needed to upgrade BlogCFC and that was a matter of finding some time.
Thanks,
Doug

Robert, I had a successful Performancing edit test. What kind of issues did you have?

Sorry for the second comment here, I was also able to delete a post without any issue.

The couple of times I tried to edit a post, it created a new post instead of editing... So there were two identical entries, except one had the edit. I'll try again, I may have done something stupid to cause that.

Interesting, I just selected the entry to edit from the history tab, made an edit, and then published. It simply edited the entry. The only thing I noticed on deleting an entry is that the entry was still being pointed to in the recent entries pod, this went away after reinit. I am using Performancing v1.3.5.

Performancing stopped working for me. How about yours?
Possibly due to the current issues published over at http://performancing .com?
I don't know why this would effect the editor plugin though. Whenever I try to use it the tool won't connect to my blog and I get a couple errors in my inbox.
What do you think, is it worth the bother or just dump it?
# Posted By doug | 1/16/07 3:27 PM
Hey Doug, Did you use it on your latest entry? I only ask because I got that entry twice from your site... I've still had trouble with the editing... I get new entries instead of edited entries. I've stopped using it. I did just upgrade my Firefox to 2.0.0.1 and haven't tried it under that yet.
It's pretty good to have an editor so accessible.. but this one seems still a little flaky to me. I'm going to give it one more try under this new Firefox. If it stills gives the same results I will probably dump it.
I'll keep you updated.

Did you get that through subscriber or RSS? I attempted it but got the errors and the post did not show up so I went into admin and made the entry. Was that the Flex Builder entry?
I recently updated to 2.0 so maybe I will unload the plugin and reinstall to see if that works. I am going to do another entry today using the admin - Would you let me know if you get it twice?
D.

Yes it was the Flex Builder 2 entry and that was through subscriber. I got two e-mails about it on Sunday around 11:35pm. AND I got the same entry today at 3:20? I just uploaded a new entry http://www.owenwebs.com/blog/index.cfm/2007/1/16/P... with performancing and it uploaded fine... I'll attempt an edit here next.

Oh, I made an edit to the Flex entry earlier. I didn't know that edits generated emails after the initial post.

I got performancing working again. It was not hooking to my xmlrpc. I deleted the account and set it up again and that solved the issue???? Maybe needed to reinit since the FF2 update.

It does indeed, I should just make that the first task in every troubleshooting effort.
