Mail Server Software

I'm in the market for some new e-mail server software... Anyone out there have any suggestions.

I'm currently using Capesoft E-mail server, which is great... Really in-expensive. It includes unlimited domains/users and is really easy to set-up. But lacks some other functions, Webmail for instance. I wrote a little Coldfusion webmail application but it is very basic.. Only letting the user read/reply/compose mail.

I'm looking for something with a good webmail interface, unlimited domains/users, easy to set-up/maintain, and Inexpensive. Remember, I'm Cheap. Looking in the price range of ... Lots less than... Exchange.

Just leave a comment with any suggestions... Pretty Please.

The hosting company which I use implements many open-source project applications, one of which is http://atmail.com/.

WOW!?!?! That one is expensive... Looks pretty good but, the software is $300, then to add unlimited users is $3000 then unlimited domains is $2000... WHEW.. That completely violates my "cheap" rules ;)

I didn't realize that it was that expensive. That does break your rule doesn't it!

Hey Doug,
have you had any dealings with "MailEnable" Mail server? .. It looks pretty good... It's stretching my cheapness a bit but has A LOT of features. Just wondering if you heard any good/bad comments on it. It has a 3 month trial do I MIGHT give it a whirl.

Thanks

Robert,
sorry_but no I have not used "MailEnable". What about Gmail for businesses. It's free - meets the budget, each box has, currently, over 4 gigs of storage, you can have your domain extension, anti-spam is better than anything I've ever tried to implement myself, Web-mail, chat, etc...
I manage all of my email domains through one Gmail account. Replies, by default, return from the to: address, there is POP support.

Well, I'd need to look into how that works.... I host several other domains on my box... Would it give me an admin type area to add remove domains/mailboxes and users?

Oh ya, it is nice. You would have full control as an admin plus users would have limited control over there own pw, POP and such. It works awesome for our company and we don't have to worry about the servers! Did I mention that it integrates seamlessly with Gtalk and all the other google apps - docs, ical, etc...

No one mentioned Smartermail yet. It's the best one I've used this far, but I'm far from the expert on such things.
