Finding the Vista Telnet Client

From time to time I find that I need use of a telnet client... And, when I used Windows XP primarily, I would just drop to a command prompt and type the command. Well, that is not quite as simple in Windows Vista.

By default, Vista doesn't include the Telnet client, but you can install it very simply by following these steps:

1. Open the Programs and Features Control Panel applet found: Start -->Control Panel -->Programs and Features

2. Select "Turn Windows features on or off." 3. Select the Telnet Client option and click OK.

4. A dialog box appears, confirming the installation of new features.

After installation is complete, close the main Programs and Features Control Panel applet and the telnet command should now be available.
