Bigfoot Not a Myth...There's Proof!! Again.

So much for Tech, huh. Here's another story I just couldn't pass on. While at lunch today I saw a CNN news report flash by about... BIGFOOT! He's been out of the spot light for a while so I thought I'd see what it was about.

Full article can be read at: www.cnn.com.

Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer, a pair of Bigfoot-hunting hobbyists from north Georgia, say they found the creature's body in a wooded area and spotted several similar creatures that were still alive.

The carcass of the furry half-man, half-ape is 7 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs more than 500 pounds, they say. However, the two are not disclosing the exact location of their discovery to protect the remaining creatures.

... Whitton and Dyer plan to unveil what they say is DNA and photo evidence of the discovery in Palo Alto, California, in conjunction with a group called Searching for Bigfoot Inc.

A photograph on that group's Web site shows what appears to be the body of a large, hairy creature with an ape-like face, stuffed into a large freezer....

I will have to say, the lack of Bigfoot stories over the last few years has caused me some distress. But now that the mythical "harry dude" is back in the mainstream, I see a very exciting and positive end to 2008. Now I'm just waiting on more "Alien autopsy" proof. Pictures? Anyone?

Invisibility... OH YEAH!!!

I saw this tweet come across over at Twitter and my inner GEEK couldn't help but re-post.

Invisibility cloak 'step closer'

For now, the invisibility cloak remains a thing of science fiction

Scientists in the US say they are a step closer to developing materials that could render people invisible.

Researchers at the University of California in Berkeley have developed a material that can bend light around 3D objects making them "disappear".

New feature: Odiogo Reader

I forgot to mention... I've added a new function to the blog. The Odiogo reader. You may have noticed this little icon just above each post:

You can click that icon and a player will (should) start and read the entry to you. Instant Podcast! Well, kind of. I'll have to say, it makes my lame attempts at humor in the Friday Funnies post a lot more entertaining.

Hope you all enjoy.

New site in progress: HornSpit dot com

Got a new site officially in progress now. This is a site that came about from one long night in the Opera Pit. As another horn player and I were talking, about internet needs none the less, HornSpit.com was born.

This site is planned to be a repository of all things irreverent about the French Horn (or properly known as: Horn). Funnies, how tos, How to-nots, etc. So if there are any would be Horn players out there that would like to contribute to, what I am sure will be history in the making, please feel free to let me know. The site is still in the preliminary stages but should be functional soon.

So, keep a watch out, HornSpit.com is coming soon!

While I'm sharing...

Heard about this little ditty from the June 20 edition of Windows Weekly.

If you use FireFox you know you can type:

about:config
into the address bar and make some changes to the FireFox configuration. Well, If you type

about:robots
into the address bar of FireFox you will see a pretty funny little message.
