One of the things with this Vista machine is the fact that I didn’t have all my trusty book marks from FireFox any longer.
It’s easy to get your Favorites from Internet Explorer… just copy the Favorites folder in your user profile to the new machine and you’re done. But, FireFox…. there’s no file to copy for them. But, luckily in FireFox it’s easy as well.
Software installation update…. Here's my installation update for 3/19/07: Installed: Quickbooks 2007 Installed Perfectly.. No problems Adobe Acrobat version 6 Don't do it. This is a pig. won't work. Use version 8 Macromendia Studio MX 2004 All works well. DreamWeaver needs permission to run each time.. Ok.. I’m ready. I have a machine built and Vista Ultimate installed. I used the following hardware for this new PC:
I chose the ASUS board because of the 1066 mhz Front side Bus and DDR2 800 mhz RAM support. And, because I like ASUS, their boards are generally fairly reliable.
Windows ultimate installed perfectly. No need to install any drivers except the RAID on the motherboard. Otherwise it looks like Microsoft has started to get their act together.
Since I've started having clients asking me about upgrading to Windows Vista. And, come to find out, I have to assist in the upgrading of an entire office network to Windows Vista I decided that I need to immerse myself in this new OS. This is for all the germ conscious folks that worry about using cold water to clean.
John went to visit his 90 year old grandfather in a very secluded, rural area of Georgia.
After spending a great evening chatting the night away, John’s grandfather prepared breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast. However, John noticed a film like substance on his plate, and questioned his grandfather asking, “Are these plates clean?”
His grandfather replied, “They’re as clean as cold water can get em. Just you go ahead and finish your meal, Sonny!”
For lunch the old man made hamburgers. Again, John was concerned about the plates as his appeared to have tiny specks around the edge that looked like dried egg and asked, “Are you sure these plates are clean?”
Without looking up the old man said, “I told you before, Sonny, those dishes are as clean as cold water can get em. Now don’t you fret, I don’t want to hear ‘nother word about it!”
Later that afternoon, John was on his way to a nearby town and as he was leaving, his grandfather’s dog started to growl, and wouldn’t let him pass. John yelled, “Grandfather, your dog won’t let me get to my car”.
