Some Sillies for Tuesday

April 7, 2009 By Robert Owen

Darn Silliness! As you've probably noticed I've been listening to Brink.fm a bit here lately... not because I'm a HUGE fan of Radio (I'm more of a Audio Book person) but, because they play some pretty good stuff and a Friend of mine runs it. Patrick asked a bunch of us to record some Station IDs for him to use during song breaks. So, I cracked my knuckles, dug out the microphone, fired up Audacity and got to work. I decided to share some of my wonderful creations with you all... So … [Read more...]

Spring has Sprung, ugh.

April 2, 2009 By Robert Owen

SPRING HAS SPRUNG! Well, I'm much more interested in Winter than Spring... I see the sun all the time, winter brings the opportunity (how ever small) that I will get to see snow too. Don't get me wrong, I like the sunny warm weather of the Spring and Summer months. It's just that in Tennessee we get Sunny warm weather all year long. Even in the winter. ( Damn Global Warming! ) Winter here just means we now have the added possibility of cold and snow, and I really dig that possibility. This … [Read more...]

31 Days to Build a Better Blog

March 26, 2009 By Robert Owen

Checking my twitter feed this morning I saw the following tweet from Alex Lavidge that looked pretty interesting: It looked pretty interesting so, beginning April 1, 2009, I will be participating in ... "31 Days to Build a Better Blog".  April, this year, is not the most convenient time to be starting this but I'm determined to improve the quality of the content I provide on owenwebs.com and think this would be a great way to start. This learning event is being lead by Darren Rowse … [Read more...]

Knoxville Overground Downtown Center

March 24, 2009 By Robert Owen

It looks as though the Knoxville Overground is pushing forward and looking to create a downtown workspace along with their Sequoyah Hills office. Below is the latest post from Knoxviews.com. 35 Market Square could be a micro-enterprise development center modeled off of one in San Francisco In the midst of our recession, the non-profit organization Knoxville Overground continues to push forward with its grassroots campaign to build resources for triple-bottom line entrepreneurs and … [Read more...]

Fresh and New

March 23, 2009 By Robert Owen

It's still a work-in-progress but, as you can see things have changed up a bit around here. I have been sporting the same ole look for the site for quite a while and decided that it was time to update. My blog has become an important section of the site and I needed a way to keep it updated while keeping the main area of the site in one fail swoop. I've been a big fan of Ray Camden's BlogCFC for quite a while. And, while it's a great blogging platform and has some basic CMS abilities, it's … [Read more...]

New Start

March 14, 2009 By Robert Owen

This, I guess, can be tagged as my first "Official" entry... Getting ready to make some MAJOR changes to my main site: Owen Consulting and also to: Southern Brass Quintet Well... In preparing for the new changes at the main site I though I would go ahead and work a version of the new banner into this Blog design. I know no one is reading this but I'll ask anyway... what do you think? Think it will work? I know... most of you fictional readers are really asking what I have to blog … [Read more...]
