Exporting FireFox Book Marks

March 21, 2007 By Robert Owen

One of the things with this Vista machine is the fact that I didn’t have all my trusty book marks from FireFox any longer.

It’s easy to get your Favorites from Internet Explorer… just copy the Favorites folder in your user profile to the new machine and you’re done. But, FireFox…. there’s no file to copy for them. But, luckily in FireFox it’s easy as well.

First click the Bookmarks menu found at the top of the FireFox window. then click the “organize bookmarks” option from the drop down menu.

A new window will open now. In the window select “File” then export from the menu.

This will open a new window asking you for a location to save the export file. Select a “Save” location and you are done.

To import this file into another installation of FireFox, simply repeat the steps above except, select “Import” in the second step instead of “export”. Navigat to the saved file and you are done.
