This is just a little rant. You probably don't want to hear/read this but hey, this is my site so here goes.
This past Christmas my lovely wife, knowing the geek I am, got me this great t-shirt. If you are a geek like me you can determine the subject of this shirt quite easily. Now, if you can't tell… I'll fill you in. This shirt's subject is the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. ( a most hilarious movie BTW)
So… How/why is this a rant? Well. I wore this T-shirt this past weekend while doing my Saturday chores. I was out at at the local Target picking up some cokes, cat litter, you know… important stuff. Well, I started getting some really angry looking stares from the other patrons of that fine establishment. I can't really say why for sure.. Maybe they got it that it was a movie t-shirt or maybe they were confounded by the caption on the back?
The front of the shirt simply has the number 42. The back has a picture of a head with a towel wrapped around it and the caption: “Have Towel, Will Travel” Were these people geek haters? Or was there something more malicious? Maybe a misunderstanding of what the shirt was about? Well, either way I don't really care. All I have to say is: “Calm down!!!!!” It's just a shirt. Get over yourselves!
