New Site: JustUsLeeg

May 29, 2009 By Robert Owen

I've been helping some twitter friends with a new site, JustUsLeeg.com ... Go check it out! Till you do, here's what it's about: The JustUsLeeg started out with @bc42 and @thesnarkyone having a beer at breakers. They went to high school together and decided the next time they should invite some other friends to show up. Little by little people started showing up every two weeks to geek out and have beers together. We then decided to have a tweetup every other meeting (monthly) of the JL and … [Read more...]

Save the Arts!

May 18, 2009 By Robert Owen

This is one of the most troubling things I've run across in a long time. TAZEWELL, Tenn. — Because of the recession, cutbacks in public schools across the country have compromised a lot of what many students have taken for granted, like after-school activities and programs. Fortunately, in Claiborne, Bell, and Lee Counties, schools have not made many critical cutbacks in planning their next budgets; that is, until now. At the last Claiborne County Board of Education meeting, the school board … [Read more...]

Some Pics of the yard

April 25, 2009 By Robert Owen

I was cleaning the kitchen... got cut by a piece of glass. So, I decided I should take a break from that and went outside to take a few pictures while the bleeding stopped...  Of course then I went back inside, started cleaning again... got cut again... Took a few more pics. Cleaning shouldn't be painful! At any rate here's a couple of shots that I thought turned out pretty well. Here are a couple of shots of the Dogwood blooms in my yard: Here are some shots of a Dandelion trying … [Read more...]

Tea Party Wrap up

April 16, 2009 By Robert Owen

Did you make it to the Knoxville  Tax Day Tea Party yesterday?  No?  Me either... you know, too busy working off my share of the national debt. Anyway, since you missed it, here's a good "wrap up" from my friend Scott Adcox: ...There was a pretty varied cross section of people. Lots of “Fair Tax” signs (I’ll post later why I have a hard time getting on board with that), lots of Ron Paul supporters, and thankfully not much bashing of President Obama directly. I think most people understand that … [Read more...]

Those Brits are a Talented Bunch

April 15, 2009 By Robert Owen

This is just a quick post to link to a video I saw on YouTube I would normally just embed it but they wont allow this one to be embedded. This is way better than the crap that spits on on American Idol and, shows you shouldn't judge by appearance alone. Give this a look:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lp0IWv8QZY … [Read more...]

As I finish up my Taxes…

April 13, 2009 By Robert Owen

As I continue to work on my Taxes (is it too late to request a bailout?), I find myself needing some background noise. Normally, I would turn on BrinkFM but my wife found this little Video this weekend and I've become addicted. So, I post this here for so you'll get addicted for you to enjoy. Back to Taxes! … [Read more...]
