Spam: It is inventive.

Here is the latest Scam e-mail I’ve gotten.  Don’t be fooled! This is a scam! This e-mail came to one of my e-mail accounts today from different senders and IP addresses but the machine sending names were the same. AND, the content was identical. It looks as though some has a mass-mailer sitting on their machine. Just a reminder to … Read more

Friday Funny: Poor Sheep

This week’s Friday Funny comes from deep within my e-mail archives. Actually, I just found it saved on an old external Hard drive when I was freeing up some space. The e-mail came me to originally from a friend in a previous life. It’s pretty old and I’m not sure why it has lasted on my drives as long as it has but, it’s a hoot!  😆

So, here ya go… Poor Sheep.

Remote Shutdown, Oh how I love thee…

I manage a few Windows Servers across my VPN… Updating software, OS, and managing backups, etc. And, sometimes when you are installing an update that requires a reboot things can get a little complicated. Especially, if that server has a lot of services running and you are logged in via Remote Desktop. If there a lot of services that have … Read more

Cool Video: Bird Attacks RC Plane

I’m a big fan of RC (Remote Controlled) Airplanes, Helicopters, and cars. I don’t have any right now but, I’ve been looking at Helicopters and think I may want to give that a whirl. 😉 – sorry about the pun. I did, however, get my nephews a couple of really sweet/fast cars for Christmas this past year. I think with … Read more

Email Scam – Trying another route

I got another Scam attempt in the e-mail tonight and thought I would share. I may have to make a whole new section of the site for these pitiful attempts. I guess it must sucker somebody, else they wouldn’t continue the effort. Maybe since I’ve ignored all of their other attempts, they decided they needed to switch directions. Received: from … Read more

A dime has 118 ridges around the edge.

A cat has 32 muscles in each ear.

A crocodile cannot stick out its tongue.

A dragonfly has a life span of 24 hours.

A goldfish has a memory span of three seconds.

A “jiffy” is an actual unit of time for 1/100th of a second.

Here’s to MAC Security

This was another “Eaten” Post. I’m adding it back because I find it is still relevant information in the whole MAC vs PC debate going on these days. The information below is slightly dated but, it really hasn’t changed much in the past year. Problems still exist on BOTH sides. (Although the MAC guys would lead you to believe otherwise.)

Well, we always hear of the Apple Macintosh’s superior OS security… How they never get viruses; never lock-up, No “Holes” in their OS etc.. And, now that they have changed to the Intel Processor we are seeing Television ADs with two guys portraying and PC and a MAC… One time the PC guys has a “Cold”.. the next time he “locks-up”. All the while the MAC guy talking about how “HE” nevers has any of that trouble…

Well, you will be interested to see the bit of news posted May 11th…
